Life at Axis

What I enjoy most about Axis is the friendship.

We are all very social and I like that the club has a variety of people

Axis is one of the few charities in Suffolk to accept any adult with a physical/sensory disability. This means we have a diverse membership, in regard to age, disability and of course personality: Axis is full of characters; and what our members love most about the club is the friendships they make.

I love the atmosphere and going on trips

Axis is an active club and we keep things fresh with a range of activities and excursions. Members’ favourite sessions are Arts & Crafts, Music and Movement, and Chef’s Delights. This year our Mystery Tours have seen members watch a fabulous play at St Felix Independent School in Southwold (as seen above) as well as a delicious trip to ‘The Chocolate Lady’. Mystery Tour destinations are suggested by members and staff, and are very popular. Please contact us today if you are interested in hosting an event or providing our lunch for the day! We also enjoy yearly outings to Sizewell in the summer, Thursford for the Christmas show, and Romford for Christmas shopping.

Monica is a damn good cook!

An absolute must for all food lovers, Axis members have the choice of two home-cooked meals. Few things put a smile on your face quite like a satisfying meal and Monica serves up a fresh and varied menu. The menu is determined by a combination of Monica’s expertise and members suggestions, so if there is anything you really fancy, she is always happy to hear suggestions!
